Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the mechanism of using the cards issued by Jordan Commercial Bank (“the Bank”) through any digital wallet service provider on compatible customer devices. By adding or using the Card through any wallet, the Customer agrees to be fully bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions shall be read together with:
- Account Opening Terms and Conditions
- Mobile and Online Banking Terms and Conditions
- All types of Card Terms and Conditions
- Any other agreements related to the Bank
In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the Terms of Use, these Terms of Use shall prevail.
Definitions
Card
Means any credit card, debit card, or prepaid card issued by the Bank that is not expired, blocked, suspended, or cancelled.
Customer
Means the cardholder or the account owner linked to the Card.
Device
Includes any smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, or any other device that the Bank determines to be eligible for using tokenization or digital wallet services.
Wallet
Means a mobile payment service or digital wallet service provided by a third party that enables the Customer to make payments using compatible devices and registered cards.
Passcode
Means the PIN, password, pattern, fingerprint, facial recognition, or any authentication method required to unlock the Device.
General Terms and Responsibilities
Customer Responsibility
The Customer shall be fully responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of the Device and the confidentiality of login credentials
- Protecting the passcode, passwords, and Card-related information
- Preventing any unauthorized access
- All transactions conducted prior to reporting loss or theft
If the Device or login credentials are shared, third parties may be able to use the Cards and access personal and payment information.
No Change to Card Terms
Adding the Card to the Wallet does not alter the original Card terms. All applicable fees, charges, and interest remain in effect when the Card is used through the Wallet.
The Wallet service provider or any third party may impose fees determined by them, and the Customer shall bear such fees without any liability on Jordan Commercial Bank.
Adding and Removing Jordan Commercial Bank Cards
- Only cards permitted by the Bank may be added.
- The card addition process may require customer identity verification.
- The Wallet may not be accepted at all points of sale.
- Using the Wallet requires unlocking the Device or verifying identity.
- The Customer may remove the Card through the Wallet service provider.
- The Bank may suspend or stop the use of any Card at any time.
Security, Fraud, and Unauthorized Use
The Customer must immediately notify the Bank in case of:
- Card loss or theft
- Device loss or theft
- Any unauthorized access
- Passcode compromise
The Customer shall compensate the Bank for any claims, fees, or losses related to transactions conducted using the Customer’s Device prior to notifying the Bank of fraud, loss, theft, or requesting the Bank to stop the Card.
The Bank may:
- Block any transactions
- Disable Card usage through the Wallet
- Take additional verification measures
- Reject any suspicious transactions
The use of the Wallet is prohibited on modified or compromised devices.
The Customer must cooperate with the Bank in any investigations and comply with anti-fraud or other procedures as determined by the Bank.
The Customer bears full responsibility for protecting their Cards, Wallet transactions, and any information on the Device in the event the Device is lost or sold to any third party.
Privacy and Data Use
The Bank may:
- Collect information for identity verification
- Collect or use technical Device data without identifying the Customer
- Use aggregated data to enhance services without identifying the Customer
The Bank is not responsible for data collected or processed by Wallet service providers.
Suspension or Termination of Service
The Bank may suspend or terminate the service in case of:
- Fraudulent activity on the Card or account
- Violation of any provision of these Terms and Conditions
- Security risks or data breaches
Third-Party Agreements and Services
These Terms of Use apply solely between the Bank and the Customer. Certain services provided through the digital wallet system may be subject to third-party services, including—but not limited to—wireless carriers, applications, or websites integrated into the Wallet system, which may have their own independent terms and conditions or agreements.
The Customer may be subject to such third-party agreements when providing personal information to third parties for the purpose of using their services or accessing their applications or websites, or as otherwise governed by the relevant circumstances.
The Bank shall not be responsible for the security, accuracy, validity, suitability, content, or operation of any products or services provided by any third party.
The Customer bears sole responsibility for reviewing and understanding any third-party agreements before adding or using the Card through the digital wallet system.
Jordan Commercial Bank does not provide and shall not be responsible for any support or assistance related to any third-party device, software, products, or services.
In the event of any inquiries or issues related to a third-party product or service, including matters related to device operation, the Customer must contact the relevant third party directly in accordance with their customer support procedures.
Limitation of Liability
The Bank shall not be liable for:
- Malfunctions or errors resulting from the digital wallet service provider
- Transmission or reception failures
- Unauthorized use resulting from Customer negligence
- Use of the service on unsupported or modified devices
Amendments
The Bank may amend these Terms and Conditions at any time in accordance with applicable legislation and the instructions of the Central Bank of Jordan. The Customer shall be notified through any of the following means:
- SMS
- The Bank’s website
- Any approved communication channel
Communications and Notifications
By using the service, the Customer agrees to receive notifications, alerts, and security confirmations and must ensure that their contact details are kept up to date.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. In the event of any inconsistency between the Arabic and English texts, the Arabic text shall prevail.
