Amman, Jordan – (July 2008) – Putting into action the strong belief in the social responsibility and the development process in the Kingdom. Jordan Commercial Bank (JCBank) is to sponsor the Scientific Forum organized by Al Yarmouk University next month. The Forum will be held in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organization- Egypt between July 8 and July 10. Participating in the event are representatives from the private and the public sectors in Jordan, the region and around the globe.
The Forum seeks to examine the scientific principles and foundations of the successful partnership between the public and private sectors, in addition to reviewing and analyzing live models from Jordan and abroad. It also highlights the role of partnership in achieving developmental goals, through the identification of strategies and appropriate mechanisms for planning partnership and effectuating methods for making it a reality. It will also shed light on how to overcome problems and challenges both sectors face, with the need to exchange knowledge and experiences among Arab countries in this field.
The General Manager of JCBank, Dr. Jawad Al Hadid commented on the Bank constructive gesture, saying “The economic development in the Arab region imposes on the respective governments to adopt comprehensive strategies, to give the private sector the opportunity to play an active role in the development process, and to create initiatives that should minimize the economic problems eventually conducive to distorting the social fabric. We, at JCBank, realize Jordan’s need for such partnership with the private sector; and now is the time to see this partnership on the ground, hoping to create a solid base and coherent social and economic development”.
He also added, “Experience has shown that successful partnership is the base of tangible development in the community, as the private sector in Jordan is an active member in the implementation of various developmental programs initiated by the public sector. Both the public and private sectors have complementary advantages that help in reaching the development goals”.
From his end, the Head of Economics and Business Department, Dr. Walid Humeidat said, “We are indebted to the JCBank for the commended initiative to support the scientific Forum that Al Yarmouk University is embarking on in the coming days. We would like to stress the importance of the mutual and the necessary cooperation between the private and the public sectors, that in return, will logically pay many positive dividends”.
The Forum that is set to motivate participants from both sectors to create opportunities for dialogue, and for organizing well-concerted programs. It also aims to help launching effective, long-term joint ventures, that should contribute to finding deep-rooted solutions to the economic and social problems the Arab world is facing nowadays.
